Christmas Jammies

Last year during this time I saw a picture of a little girl sitting on a white fluffy bed in her Christmas jammies with her cookies and milk.  Since then I wanted to get one done for my kids. I hope I can make it one of my ‘things to do’ every Christmas. At least, till my 7 going on 14-year-old boy allows me to dress him up in cute jammies matching his 1 year old sister. Let’s see how far that goes….

Our choice of photographer was easy. We just went with the same photographer( Meredith June Photography based in Charlotte, NC) that captured my daughters newborn photos as well as her first birthday cake smash. She had the perfect setup of a white fluffy bed with some pretty Christmas décor. From an outfit perspective, I definitely wanted matching jammies for them, so my first choice was Hanna Anderson’s.

My real reason behind writing this post is to let my fellow moms know how much kids really enjoy these kinds of sessions. Which kid doesn’t love to bounce on a bed in their jammies? The minute I put them both on the bed, they felt right at home and started giving us the most adorable expressions. Very less effort required from the parent side to make them laugh. I literally had to jump, make funny faces and every animal sound for our family photo shoot in my OTK boots and shorter than normal dress to get my daughter to laugh in a public place. So, you can imagine how happy  and relieved I was here, that I did’nt have to explore the animal in me again. 😉

They jumped, they bounced, they lay down and read a book. It was truly a very easy, quick and fun experience. It didn’t take us more than 20 minutes. Next year I might through in mama bear and papa bear too 😉

P:S – The best expressions captured, are the ones that are truly natural in a relaxed at-home setting. That’s what I got to experience with this photoshoot.
